Welcome to Colorado Springs – Olympic City USA. We’re proud to be hosting the inaugural Pikes Peak APEX mountain bike challenge, with elite cyclists from Colorado and beyond.
Late September is a beautiful time to visit the Pikes Peak region and catch the aspen trees transitioning from green to gold right before your eyes. While here, enjoy our attractions and activities and make a mental note to come back again for a couple’s getaway or family vacation.
In July, the U.S. Olympic & Paralympic Museum opened and is truly a wonder to behold. It features an exterior that is designed to resemble the flowing movement of an athlete in motion, and the interior is just as innovative. Your museum experience will be curated just for you, based on where you’re from and which sports and athletes you like. You’ll start your journey on the top floor and work your way down through various galleries in a spiral pattern, never encountering a single step, making it one of the most accessible museums in the world.
Spend time in Garden of the Gods Park, rated the #1 park in the U.S. on TripAdvisor.® The towering red rocks are a sight to behold, dating back billions of years with captivating names like Kissing Camels, Balanced Rock and Sleeping Giant. The park has no entry fee and is easily accessed by car, bike, foot, horseback, historical trolley, Segway and e-bike. Visit Garden of the Gods Visitor & Nature Center for restrooms, gift shop, restaurant, maps, interactive exhibits and a 15-minute movie to show you how those red rocks got there.
