Outdoor Festival & Expo marks the final stage of highest profile mountain bike event on The Front Range and also serves as a backdrop for the full day of activities to celebrate outdoor recreation.
Today we rolled out of America The Beautiful Park for the Gold Camp stage. Riders were called up to the start line positioned in downtown Olympic City, USA between the bridge to the US Olympic & Paralympic Museum and The APEX Outdoor Festival & Expo. Stage 3 ended with Alexis Skarda and Keegan Swenson leading.
The wait is over. The miles are in your tank. Colorado Springs is amped. It’s Pikes Peak APEX week! And it’s more than just a ride—it’s an event. Whether you are a rider, volunteer, family of a participant, or community member, there is so much going on! We wanted to make sure you know all that is happening, so we caught up with race director, Micah Rice, to give you the goods.
Sports Strategies announces the first APEX Outdoor Festival & Expo at the 2021 Pikes Peak APEX presented by RockShox. Day 3 of The APEX will feature something for everyone, bringing together Colorado Springs locals, out of town visitors and APEX riders in America The Beautiful Park.
Not up for riding all 4 days, but still want to join the ride? New to mountain biking or maybe a bit timid? Sign up for the Off-road Fun Ride. For the beginner to intermediate rider, from middle school on up, we have two fabulous coaches to teach you fundamental mountain biking skills: Bobbie Kae Warner and Lisa Myklak.
With less than a month to go before the 2021 Pikes Peak APEX presented by RockShox, we’re happy to report strong registration numbers for the race and that entries are still available if you want to get in on the fun! If you’re on the fence about doing a 4-day mountain bike stage race in Colorado Springs on September 23-26, here are some ideas that might help you land on our side of that fence.
Ride epic routes with comprehensive support
We have a lot in store for Day 3 when we premiere the APEX Outdoor Festival & Expo at America The Beautiful Park on Saturday, September 25th.
We want to make sure there is something for everyone - all levels and all ages. We have invited Kids on Bikes to join us, and they will be offering up free family fun as well as skills clinics. We caught up with Mark Schenberger, Camp Manager, for a chat. Here's a glimpse of what to expect.
APEX: Hi Mark, tell us more about Kids on Bikes. What's the mission in the Colorado Springs community?
We hear some hesitations out there, and we have solutions to calm those fears. With roughly 2 months until the 2021 edition of the Pikes Peak APEX presented by RockShox, we don’t want you to miss out!
This is not childcare. This is an opportunity to learn about cycling through skills clinics and MTB camp. Skills clinics will be offered during the Expo and MTB Camp will run concurrently with The APEX, providing a fun, educational experience where kids will have a blast working with expert, PMBIA certified instructors.
Come out and celebrate the outdoors!
The APEX Outdoor Festival & Expo will feature a full day of activities that celebrate outdoor recreation, beginning with the final stage of the highest profile mountain bike event on The Front Range - The Pikes Peak APEX presented by RockShox and The Pikes Peak APEX Run.
