Today we rolled out of America The Beautiful Park for the Gold Camp stage. Riders were called up to the start line positioned in downtown Olympic City, USA between the bridge to the US Olympic & Paralympic Museum and The APEX Outdoor Festival & Expo. Stage 3 ended with Alexis Skarda and Keegan Swenson leading.
The wait is over. The miles are in your tank. Colorado Springs is amped. It’s Pikes Peak APEX week! And it’s more than just a ride—it’s an event. Whether you are a rider, volunteer, family of a participant, or community member, there is so much going on! We wanted to make sure you know all that is happening, so we caught up with race director, Micah Rice, to give you the goods.
With less than a month to go before the 2021 Pikes Peak APEX presented by RockShox, we’re happy to report strong registration numbers for the race and that entries are still available if you want to get in on the fun! We have a lot in store for Day 3 when we premiere the APEX Outdoor Festival & Expo at America The Beautiful Park on Saturday, September 25th.
We want to make sure there is something for everyone - all levels and all ages. We have invited Kids on Bikes to join us, and they will be offering up free family fun as well as skills clinics. We caught up with Mark Schenberger, Camp Manager, for a chat. Here's a glimpse of what to expect.
APEX: Hi Mark, tell us more about Kids on Bikes. What's the mission in the Colorado Springs community?
The APEX Outdoor Festival & Expo will feature a full day of activities that celebrate outdoor recreation, beginning with the final stage of the highest profile mountain bike event on The Front Range - The Pikes Peak APEX presented by RockShox and The Pikes Peak APEX Run.
