COVID-19 Safety Plan

The Pikes Peak APEX, a 4-day world-class mountain bike event, will be held on September 23-26, 2021.

We are working to arrange all permits, and will run the event within state and local regulations. Same as last year, we are working closely with landowners, government entities and partners to execute a safe event that will excite participants.

We are proud to have Dr. Michael Roshon as our Medical Director. Dr. Roshon is also the Chief Medical Officer for USA Cycling. In 2020, he worked in conjunction with the El Paso County Health Department to create resources that allowed us to operate as safely as possible for our staff, volunteers and participants.

We are monitoring the current progress of the mitigation of COVID-19, and we will make updates and changes related to our COVID-19 protocols for 2021 as we learn more. Updates will be posted and made available here.

We will have a medical plan in place with virus safety in mind.

As we did in 2020, we are working with a team of experts from Centura Health, Penrose St. Francis Hospital, El Paso County Search and Rescue and others.

Tech support will be available to assist riders.

See the detailed 2020 COVID-19 Mitigation Plan here.

Everyone taking part in the event will be expected to abide by a Code of Conduct. This will include participants, volunteers, staff and vendors. See the Code of Conduct here.
