The inaugural Pikes Peak APEX took place September 2020, and for many professional riders, it was the biggest event of their season. Since introduction, The APEX has solidified a place on the calendars of pros and amateurs alike as a “can’t miss” event.
Coming off of a successful debut and receiving international exposure that included coverage by the most important outlets in the sport of cycling, as well as the leading regional and local media, we are expecting an even bigger second year. As riders prepare to converge in Colorado Springs again September 23-26, 2021, we invite you to join us and experience the highest profile mountain bike event on the Front Range of Colorado.
To navigate through hosting The APEX while mitigating the spread of COVID-19 last year, we had to scale back the event. This year, in addition to hosting over 300 riders, along with their families and teams, we will welcome spectators from Colorado Springs and beyond. The biggest day of the week will be Saturday when everyone comes together in America The Beautiful Park to experience the festival atmosphere of The APEX Expo.
The APEX Expo
Saturday, September 25th in America The Beautiful Park
Saturday will be packed with excitement surrounding Stage 3 of The APEX - a rider favorite and the most popular course, ending with an incredible descent down Captain Jacks. This course is so favored that we are offering one-day registrations to allow participants who can't ride the full 4-day challenge to join us. Saturday will be the most heavily trafficked day of the event, and we expect to host an audience of no fewer than 1,000 participants, spectators and community members.
We welcome outdoor organizations and recreation brands to join us for The APEX Expo. This opportunity offers exposure to an audience of cyclists and outdoor enthusiasts in an exciting atmosphere and idyllic location, across from the US Olympic and Paralympic Museum with views of Pikes Peak and the front range. Look for food trucks to be on-site and activities to entertain adults and children.
